THE DEFINITION OF HEALTH IS “THE CONDITION OF BEING SOUND IN BODY, MIND, OR SPIRIT”. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AND THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY. OUR GOAL IS TO PURPOSEFULLY CONTRIBUTE 50% OF OUR NET PROFITS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND INITIATIVES THAT FOCUS ON SUPPORTING AND IMPROVING VARIOUS ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND HEALING WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
WE FEEL THAT GENERAL DONATIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS ARE HELPFUL, BUT OFTEN DO NOT CLEARLY MANIFEST INTO A MEASURABLE RESULT. BY PARTNERING WITH GROUPS THAT HAVE DEFINITIVE MISSIONS, WE FIND IT MORE BENEFICIAL TO DONATE BASED ON PARTICULAR GOALS THAT ARE CAREFULLY PLANNED AND EXECUTED BY THE ORGANIZATIONS. THIS ALLOWS US TO BETTER ASSESS THE PROGRESS AND EVALUATE ITS POSITIVE EFFECT ON OUR COMMUNITY. IT ALSO ENABLES US TO KEEP YOU INFORMED OF EXACTLY HOW YOUR PURCHASE GAVE BACK TO THE CAUSE OF BLACK HEALTH.

Founded more than a decade ago, The African American Wellness Project
(AAWP) was organized to respond to inequities in the health care
delivery system. African Americans suffer from health conditions at a
disproportionately higher rate and need to know how to organize their
health care delivery options in a way that allows them to best utilize
health care services. AAWP believes that health disparities will continue to exist if action is not taken. They provide the resources, information and tools that Black communities
need to get the best quality healthcare possible regardless of
insurance or circumstance and serve as an advocate to ensure the best
health and health care possible. AAWP is a “good prescription” for
Black America.

BEAM is a national training, movement building, and grant making institution that is dedicated to the healing, wellness, and liberation of Black and marginalized communities. Their mission is to remove the barriers that Black people experience getting access to or staying connected with emotional health care and healing through education, training, advocacy, and the creative arts. Their work centers around a healing justice framework. Healing justice is a framework, developed by Cara Page and the Kindred Healing Justice Collective, that identifies how we can intervene and holistically respond to generational trauma and violence. They believe Black wellness and healing work can only progress if this work is done while addressing economic reform, inequities in the criminal legal system, HIV/AIDS, transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogynoir, reproductive justice, intimate partner violence, and other issues that challenge the wellness of Black communities.
